On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to invite you to participate in this joint conference of the 5th UK-China and 13th UK Particle Technology Forum, which will be held from Sunday 12 – Wednesday 15 July in Leeds, UK. The theme of this conference is Crossroad of the Particle Science and Technology.
Both UK and China have developed large communities in the particle science and technology in the past few decades. The annual Particle Technology Forum in the UK (UKPTF) has been the archive platform for advancing and communicating the latest progress. The UK-China Particle Technology Forum, which was successfully held in 2007 (Leeds), 2009 (Guiyang), 2011 (Birmingham) and Shanghai (2013), promoted dialogues and communications between UK and China. In a view to further enhance communications between scientists and engineers from both academic institutions and industrial companies of the two countries, and to foster new and substantial collaborations, it was decided to bring these two events together and have this joint conference.
This joint conference is intended to stimulate discussions on the forefront of research in particle science and technology. The conference will focus on both fundamentals and applications of particle science and engineering, including particle characterization and measurement, particle processing technologies, particulate product engineering, modelling and simulation of particle systems, and emerging applications in various fields. The conference will include plenary, keynote, and contributed oral presentations, as well as the traditional Young Researcher Award (YRA) and poster competition of UKPTF.
